AAQ in Human Biology

COURSE OVERVIEW

The AAQ (Alternative Academic Qualification) in Human Biology provides you with an in-depth understanding of key biological concepts related to human life, from anatomy and physiology to health and genetics. You will learn key practical skills such as microscopy, biochemical testing and DNA analysis. You will become an expert on nutrition, carrying out investigations into digestive enzymes and other parts of the digestive system. A firm grounding in genetics will allow you to understand the cutting-edge field of regenerative medicine, and alongside your studies of drug development, will ideally prepare you for any career in the Allied Health professions. However, this course is not only for those interested in Healthcare; it is ideal for those who wish to go into Sporting professions, as you will have a clear understanding of how the human body works.

This AAQ is an OCR Level 3 Advanced National in Human Biology and is a two-year course which is the equivalent of 1 A Level.

FURTHER INFORMATION

You need a minimum of five GCSEs at 9-4, including 44 in GCSE Science, 4 in GCSE Maths and 4 in GCSE English Language.
